Odds-n-Ends

Sometimes your mind starts working on something before you realize it like when I read these headlines, here is what I initially thought of:

'Jap Road' to Get Name Change
It's probably the best thing for all involved considering how people get 'offended' by practically everything.

'Nip Avenue' or 'Kamikaze Street' would be much better.

Drug Sniffer Dog Dies of Overdose
I guess no one was around to intervene....

Frenchman retains snail spitting world title
Besides pulling off the "don't-shower-for-a-week" feat, here is another reason to be jealous of the French.

Coach questions call, shot to death on field by referee
He was all out of red cards....

That referee - we should use his type of justice here - swift, to the point, and final.

Mikey, sigh, the road was named "Jap Road" because 100 years ago a Japanese family introduced rice farming to the area. It was meant to honr the family, strange as that seems now. IMHO, it would be the proper thing to re-name the road Mayumi Road, thus preserving the original intention, that of honoring a family that made a valuable contribution to the area.

The dog story made me angry and sad. How could the handler allow his charge to ingest that much crank? I feel sorry for his kids, tho.

The Frenchman? Why doesn't this surprise me? What an idiotic contest! Almost as silly as hack-sack!

The last one is the best! I think this should be allowed in the National Hockey League. It's about the only thing that could keep Pat Quinn from whining all the time!

Deudd: I know about 'Jap Road' - it was meant to be *cough* funny....sort of like if a woman named Susan Fuchs kept getting called Ms. Fucks and she changed her name to Brenda.....
