It seems that President Obama is finding that while the promises he made on the campaign trail 'looked good on paper' as the saying goes aren't actually good overall to actually pull off:
Obama seeks to block release of abuse photos
Obama revives tribunals for Gitmo detainees
Those faint popping noises are the sounds of leftist heads exploding.
Heh!

If only that popping were real.
I still think the O's just saying some of this shit to fuck with us before he backpedals again.

You guys first horse had the chance for 8 years and nearly fucking destroyed this country. Get over losing the election already and either help everyone else out, or go back to your church and listen to Rush Limpdick during the day.
|| Posted by Nunya, May 17, 2009 03:08 PM ||Hey Nunya:
Get over losing the election already
You know.....I honestly didn't get too upset when Obama won the election.
Really!
Yeah sure I wasn't happy....but it didn't upset me. I'm basically waiting for his term to end and the American people to wake up and put someone better into office.
....either help everyone else out
Help them out how? Help them financially? Help them out in understanding WTF is happening with this administration?
....or go back to your church and listen to Rush Limpdick during the day.
What does going to church have to do with what President HopeandChange is doing (and not doing) in office? For that matter....what does listening to Rush have to do with anything?
Honestly, I don't listen to Rush in the mornings - when I drive my kid to school, we're usually listening to a local radio morning show (101 KGB's Dave, Shelly, and Chainsaw)

It's Nice to Be Confirmed
I saw this link over at Little Green Footballs that directed me over to Pajamas Television.
There, I watched a 17-minute video hosted by Bill Wittle discussing what Jon Stewart had to say recently about how President Harry Truman was a war criminal for allowing the two atomic devices to be used on Japan near the end of World War II.
And it was great to have Bill Wittle confirm what I've always remarked about on the anniversary of the nuking of Hiroshima: it was done for a good reason.
And the part that confirmed what I'd always said was that Bill's father himself was 'saved' by the bombing of both Hiroshima and of Nagasaki; Bill's father was in the U.S. Army in Europe and would have participated in the invasion of the Japanese home islands like my father would have.
It's nice to have something I've speculated about in history to be confirmed.

Moving Day
Today the Mad Mikey family moved from delightful La Jolla, California to even more delightful Rancho Bernardo. We got all of the heavy furniture moved and all that's left is to get the smaller things in the old apartment that are luckily boxed up.
As much as I loath moving, we had to do it since the university - that would be the University of California - decided to become a significant pain-in-the-ass. Since I had recently gotten out of the hospital, I wasn't really in any kind of shape to resume classes; the hassle here is that if I'm not enrolled in classes, then they get all kinds of snippy about living in university housing. So after trying to jump through all the hoops of fire that they required, both my wife & I said fuck this and just started looking for a place to live. And luckily, we found a nice condo to rent up in Rancho Bernardo.
Yeah....I'll be paying more for rent but at least I won't have to contend with all of the complete morons that call themselves 'UCSD graduate students'; it really boggles me that some of these people that were my neighbors are influencing students at school and cannot function as normal human beings.....at least IMHO.
So....school is on temporary hold until I'm strong enough to return. And belive me - I do intend to return to get my engineering degree.
Who knows.....money permitting, I might check into some online courses to finish up some of the 'general education' requirements that I still have to contend with.....maybe some military history courses since I had been toying with the idea of getting a minor in U.S. History.
Have to wait and see what's out there.
