I actually thought this was a joke by Drudge when I first saw it:

On a side note, we've gotten a new notebook and the wife is now happy & back to working.
The only ominous part of the story is that while the new notebook is a Toshiba, it runs Windows Vista....

People who more than $250,000 a year are in teh minority - less than.001% of the world actually makes that kind of cash. Compare that to people who make 100,000 a year or more - only 99.44% of the world make less than them.
The issue is that people who bring n 250,000 and up run a huge gamut - less than 5% of this countrys population holds over 90% of it's wealth - and those people don't pay taxes like you or I pay taxes. If they just paid taxes at the same rate you or I paid taxes, the windfall to the country would be incredible. And we have this giant debt to be tackled since we are paying for this enormously expensive war.
Don't kid yourself - you aren't rich enough to be struck by this. In fact, less than 100,000 Americans would actually be impacted - and these are among the wealthiest people in the world, many of them politicians.
Unrelated, How've you been amigo? I haven't checked in with you in forever. The East Coast is just how you left it, only more Starbucks than McDonalds now.

Smoking

Had an unfortunate thing happen the other day - the only computer in the house finally gave up the ghost and overheated itself and severed of any/all connections to the Internet.
And lemme tell you it sucks.
I'll tell you it was a Dell notebook and I'm told this common with Dell computers. The lesson here is: do not rely on a Dell - especially if your income is made with a Dell.
We've got a new computer on its way and when it gets here, my wife will be much relived to get back to working & I can blog on a regular PC.
