I haven't posted anything about this lastest example of the Religion of Peace™ and its ambassadors taking Russian children hostage and killing a couple hundred of them.
Everytime I see children killed like this I always wonder Just when is enough going to be enough? When will people realize that the Religion of Peace™ isn't what they talking themselves up to be, especially when you think about all the insance cries of 'genocide' that Western militaries are accused of that proport the purposeful killing of children?
Taking hundreds of children hostage all to get your stinking little demands met doesn't rate high in God's book if I could be so bold. And it doesn't make much of an argument about how 'brave' you are......whimps.
These Chechen terrorists are now officially on my "I Don't Give A Flying F**k What You're Fighting For Cause It Is A Load Of Crap" list.
And the screams of condemnation coming from the Islamic Street - well, it's a deafening silence. But I'm an not surprised.....not one bit.
These Chechen *cough* rebels terrorists pieces of sh*t deserve some reserved seats on the 'Brain Trust Express' spacecraft that will be shot into deep, deep space.....never to be heard from again.

Excused Absence?
As much as I wanted to see it - and I specifically AFFIRMED my ownership of the television with the rest of the household beforehand - I didn't watch President Bush speaking at the RNC.
As my inverse Irish luck would dictate, I was recovering from minor surgery and was zonked out on H-bomb strength medication.

And deuddersun, I don't doubt that he may have had some legitimate reasons for voting down that bill. I've just yet to hear of any. Kerry hasn't made it all that obvious why he voted it down. From that quote, he gives the impression that he was for the idea of the bill, but not the bill itself so that he can have it both ways. He can then criticize excessive spending and deficits while claiming he supported the intent of the bill. I'll admit though, taking quotes out of context often change their meaning somewhat, so it is possible that the quote makes sense in the context of when he said it. Maybe that should be something the anti-bush folks should consider flinging around Bush quotes.
At any rate, it hardly matters why he voted against it since that vote isn't going to sit well with alot of veterans and current service members regardless of his reasons.

Ahh, fond memories.
The band in question is Lord Tracy. I had never heard of them until my good friend Bob and I went to the old Bacchanal in Kearny Mesa to see Ace Frehley in concert - Lord Tracy opened for them. Even though I had not heard their material before that night, I had a blast watching them, especially their bassist, Kinley Wolfe aka Barney; the man played with a touch that is only rivaled by Billy Sheehan. If you don't know who Billy is, then it'll be hard to explain just what a monster bass player he is and what a trip it is to see him play.
I decided to check the Internet and see if Lord Tracy was still around - they are. I'll be getting a CD to replace my worn-out tape as time/money permit and I'll be keeping an eye out to see if they'll be coming to San Diego. This is one band that I definitely want to see again.

Oh yeah! Lord Tracy are DEFINITELY around!
In fact I driving to Memphis tomorrow where they are playing at a Muscular Dystropy association fund raiser put on by The Stage Stop.
I was the sound man and the guy that recorded about 120 demo songs of theirs. I was too busy to work on the Def Gods release, but you'll be able to hear "our" other work because we are now releasing a bunch of un-released stuff! If you lok at Terry's website you will find a Lord Tracy section with all of the info. www.glazedmusic.com
They played in Memphis for the first time in THIRTEEN YEARS back in June and then played in Dallas the following weekend. I made the trip to Memphis and manned the console for the two nights (we recorded that show as well,) but I had commitments and had to miss the Dallas show.
We were all amazed (even the band!) at how much it was just like they had played the week before instead of 13 years earlier! Everyone has been playing and has a band, so it wasn't that difficult to get back in the groove. I remembered every fader move and effect, but I had all of the songs archived and had heard them more times in recent years than they had.
Future plans other than tomorrow in Memphis include a New Years Eve goig in Memphis and probebly a Dallas area Christmas show. We are also planning on recording around Christmas as well. Terry is a VERY prolific songwriter, so there is LOTS of material!
If you saw them in San Diego it was at the very end of the Ace Tour. I quit going on the road with them just prior to that tour, so I wasn't the mixer at the show you saw. A gofy little guy named Peter took over for a while. That was also about the end of that tour because Ace took a bunch of acid and went to Disneyland and had a "breakdown" of sorts. It ended the tour, but I was never around the guy... I heard MANY stories!
Look at Terry's website and you can find info about new CDs and stuff. There is a CD we are currently offering that is a live broadcast from a ZRock show we did in Dallas at the end of a Florida tour. It rocks and is a VERY good example of the guys at their peak playing before a VERY enthusiastic homtown crowd. I recorded and mixed about 99 or 100 of the ZRock concerts during that time, but the LT show was my favorite.
There is also going to be a DVD released, but I'm not sure of the details. There was a video made in Memphis, but I am not sure of the status. I'm not certian that Terry has "OK'd" it!

BTW... I have recorded BOTH Kinley and Billy Sheehan. Billy is good.... VERY good. Kinley is legendary. Kinley is as serious as it gets as far as a bass player or a musician goes! Kinley's tone also STOMPS Billy's. Billy's tone was kinda' contrived and simulated loud. Kinley's was MONSTEROUSLY LOUD and tough as f*cking nails!
He'd never say he was better though.
KInley played for the Cult as well after Lord Tracy and recently he has played for a country(ish) guy.

Hypocriticism
Yesterday was laundry day, which means that I'm jumping up every 33 minutes to go out and switch the loads of clothes. In between, I was vegging out and flipping channels - C-SPAN...Sci Fi Channel...FoxNews....Food Network (my wife set the 'Favorites' on this one)....C-SPAN. I don't recall which channel it was on, but there was one commercial that got me thinking about something.
The commercial was about consumer protection on your credit card(s). The actor was saying "I got a call from my credit card company asking if I had purchased two surfboards in Redondo Beach. I said NO!!".
What puzzled me was this:
People aren't getting all foaming-at-the-mouth about Citibank or Bank of America or whoever monitoring your credit card purchases and noting 'peculiar purchases' but they are getting rabid about the government possibly using library records to see who checks out 'Bomb Making for Dummies'.
What's up with that?
At least the government is trying to keep Americans safe whereas the credit card company is trying to reduce it's net losses from credit card fraud.
It just stymies me - people get really nervous about the government doing it's job yet don't bat an eye when the private sector does the same task.
Ugghhhh - go figure.....

There is concern, Mikey, but here's the deal... credit card companies have always been monitoring your purchases... it's called a bill. The problem is when that information gets into the hands of the gov't. Right now it's still protected under the Privacy Act, they can't get it without a warrant or subpoena. The concern is about MATRIX, which NY was involved in but dropped out of due to privacy concerns.
The FBI having access to library files is much different. They don't need a warrant or subpoena and can check anybodies records, not necessarily for Bomb Making for Dummies either. We don't know, and, thanks to the gag order, won't know what they look for... see trusting the USPS vs the Pentagon below ;)
