Sci Fi Friday starts tonight at 8pm PST and I've been waiting for months for the premeires of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica.

They're chock-full of geeky goodness!
Just need to get rid of my headache and line up some popcorn for the evening....
UPDATE: Missed Stargate SG-1 since I was on a food run. Stargate Atlantis was good - the cliff-hanger from the mid-season ending was resolved.
The suck part of the night was that I was falling asleep towards the end of Atlantis and was about to just record Battlestar Galactica and got pulled into it. The suckiness started about half-way through when the power got cut to the apartment complex; it had been a 'planned' outage, but still sucked ass cause the power wasn't turned back on until this morning....

I'll be watching hockey myself and drooling over my favorite players.

West Virginia-BDS Connection
I must admit to something that might be considered pathetic: everytime there's some sort of disaster, be it natural or man-made, in the United States or in another nation, a little thoguht pops into my head: 'I wonder if they'll attempt to blame it on President Bush'.
While watching that incredible story the other night about the miners in that West Virginia mine first being declared alive only to be declared dead three hours later, that little notion of Blame Bush aka Bush Derangement Syndrome reared it's ugly little head.
I thought No, there's nothing to blame on Bush. This was a local tragedy and there's just no way that any sane person could link the two together...
And I was wrong. The suprising thing is that someone did indeed tie the two together. The not-so-surprising fact is that it's The New York Times that pulled this off without using a 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon' model to do it.
I think this could be considered the first Launching a Butt-Monkey moment of 2006.
On a lighter note, I'm still sick as a dog. The upside is that I'm not currently in school at the moment (new quarter starts January 9th); the downside is that all this 'vacation time' I'm supposed to be enjoying is getting wasted on being sick.

Christmas Present Good vs. Bad, Part II
Good: Got six history books from a friend.
Bad: Finding the time to read them all.

Your booklist sounds like a barrel of laughs.
I haven't been here in awhile... How is your health? Have you received a kidney upgrade yet?
Nice to see that you are still blogging, even if you are a deranged wingnut.
Happy New Year,

Hey - I dig military history.
Still techniclaly 'on the list', although there are a couple of more hurdles I have to overcome before I'm 'active' on the list.
