Irrational Fears

I was skimming over some blogs this evening and I found this photo over at LGF. And it sent a shiver down my spine.

Why?

Well.....call it a completely irrational fear, but I've had nightmares about being eaten by....dinosaurs. Ever since I was a kid, it's been what I'd deem a 'crappiest way to die' scenario. The ironic thing is that I totally enjoyed all three of the 'Jurassic Park' movies.

Like I said - it's totally irrational, especially since the chances of my encountering a dinosaur in my lifetime are astronomical at best.

Now if you factor in the possibility of time travel......well, I digress.

So why would this photo spook me? Well, to be honest I have never ever seen a wild hog/boar this big; this sucker could easily eat a grown human and quickly.

So, now I have to strike 'wandering in the woods of Georgia' off my Things to Do in Life list.

UPDATE: Well, there was some controversy as to whether or not the photo was staged and/or faked. It turns out that this wasn't a fake photo, but the pig wasn't wild either - it was someone's pet pig that escaped a few days earlier.

Quack?

Something I saw at LGF that I thought I'd comment on:

Gillerman accuses moderate Muslims of 'silence' in face of Islamic terrorism

Israel's UN ambassador on Monday accused moderate Muslim and Arab leaders of standing by in "eerie silence" while Islamic extremists terrorize people around the world.

Take a peek.

"We live in a world where when Christians kill Muslims, it's a crusade. When Jews kill Muslims, it's a massacre. When Muslims kill Muslims, it's the weather channel. Nobody cares," Ambassador Dan Gillerman told reporters at a press lunch at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York.

Ain't that the truth?

I've been saying this pretty much since I jumped into the blogsphere a few years ago - that the 'thundering silence' coming from American Muslims is simply deafening. Many Muslim/Islamic activist groups or associations or coupon clubs are ever-so-quick to scream about bigotry or racism or whatever the social-crime de jour is at the drop of a hat, but when we see news reports or video footage of any sort of incident being perpetrated by Muslim/Islamic coupon clubs, there's nothing by the sound of jaws hitting the ground.

And it's not so much the demand for outrage when it's obvious that a Muslim or Islamic coupon welder is at the center of the action, but we keep hearing that 'most Muslims do not condone these sorts of attacks' followed by crickets chirping.

It is said that actions speak louder than words - let's see this put into action.....especially when someone like a UN ambassador points out the duck sitting at the table and comments on the walk of the duck, talk of the duck, the distinct 'quack' of the duck and no one else appears to have a clue as to what is being said.

Quack is the word......help spread it today.

UPDATE: Well, here is someone writing for the Opinion Journal that seems to be catching some of that 'thunder' and asking what's up with most Muslims.....where is their outrage over the completely obvious hijacking of their religion?

Total Crap

I haven't talked about the Bush-Kennedey Immigration Reform bill that's currently in the Senate (I think) simply because I think it's a complete waste of time, money, and blogging time.

Do I care about the sovereignty of the United States of America? You bet I am.

Then why aren't I supporting this piece-of-crap? Because it's the same crap that's always brought up:

Amnesty for 12 million illegal aliens, but it's called something else
'Toughening Up' of the border - Yes, we're going to really build that fence, man it, and really put a presence on the border and it's left wide open
Comprehensive immigration reform - no 'cutting' in the line to gain citizenship....unless you meet 'specific criteria' and then it's automatic citizenship.

The usual crap that almost everyone is tired of and the same reason that more and more people are ditching their GOP membership.

That and there's just so much of it to keep track of that all I can really do is roll my eyes. Michelle Malkin has somehow been able to keep up with all of the smoke-n-mirrors.

SLIGHT ADDENDUM: It cannot be said any simpler than this:

Boehner: Immigration Bill Is "Piece Of Sh*t"

House Minority Leader John Boehner, speaking to a private gathering of Republican activists last night, called the Senate's immigration compromise bill a "piece of shit" but said that he had promised President Bush earlier in the day that he would let his teeth be a barrier to such thoughts in public.

Boehner spoke last night at a small reception for the Republican Rapid Responders on Capitol Hill.

"I promised the President today that I wouldn't say anything bad about ... this piece of shit bill," he said, according to two attendees.

Burn Baby, BURN!

Another anti-war scumbag is dragged out into the sunlight to burn up:

Man who claimed war crimes in Iraq charged with falsifying record

SEATTLE -- A man who tried to position himself as a leader of the anti-war movement by claiming to have participated in war crimes while serving in Iraq is facing federal charges of falsifying his record.

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, formerly of Phoenix, garnered much attention on blogs and in some alternative media after he began claiming in 2005 to have been awarded a Purple Heart for his service, which he said included slaughtering innocents in a Fallujah mosque. His story was contradicted by his true discharge form, showing that he was kicked out of the Army after six weeks at Fort Benning, Ga., in 2003 because of his "entry level performance and conduct."

A complaint unsealed Friday in U.S. District Court in Seattle charged him with one count of using or possessing a forged or altered military discharge certificate, and one count of making false statements in seeking benefits from the Veterans Administration.

I heard about this on the radio this morning as I was heading to dialysis.

It's always a hoot to see some poster-boy of the anti-war cessepool being paraded around just fall on their faces - it's even better to see one that's committed fraud against the government getting their head 'nailed to a desk'.

Hey Jesse - maybe you'll be able to impress everyone in your cellblock with your ~~bullshit~~ *cough* war stories right before you're traded for a pack of smokes....
