Jane Fonda to Oppose Iraq War on Bus TourAnd the sad part is that recently I saw her latest movie - Monster-in-Law and tried (and suceeded) to suspend my opinions on her during the Vietnam War while I watched the movie. I enjoyed the movie and walked away thinking that maybe - just maybe - she had changed, especially since she's a born-again Christian....maybe I misjudged her and should give her the benefit of the doubt because she was young & stupid back in the 70s.
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Actress and activist Jane Fonda says she intends to take a cross-country bus tour to call for an end to U.S. military operations in Iraq.
"I can't go into any detail except to say that it's going to be pretty exciting," she said.
Fonda said her anti-war tour in March will use a bus that runs on "vegetable oil." She will be joined by families of Iraq war veterans and her daughter.
They plan to return to the Santa Fe area, where she was promoting her book, "My Life So Far" on Saturday.
Prompted by a question from the audience, Fonda said war veterans that she has met on a nationwide book tour have encouraged her to break her silence on the Iraq war.
"I've decided I'm coming out," she said.
Hundreds of people in the audience cheered loudly when Fonda announced her intentions to join the anti-Iraq war movement.
"I have not taken a stand on any war since Vietnam," she said. "I carry a lot of baggage from that."
I was quite throughly mistaken.
Now she's ramping up to become part of the Barking Moonbat Brigade™ 2005. We'll have to wait and see if she does something stupid now like she did in 1972 - the action that earned her the nickname 'Hanoi Jane'.
Jane you ignorant dipstick: get your shit wired and you might want to rethink this 'cross-country bus tour'...
UPDATE: La Shawn Barber make a suggestion to Jane that I wish I had thought of:
I dare you to go to Iraq, pose for pictures with Islamofascists, and trash your country.And the odd thing is: she just may do that.Fonda may be an old fool (I’m just guessing), but she’s wise enough to know a trip to an Islamofascist camp may be hazardous to her presently-attached head.
