Just arrived home for the second time in two weeks from the hospital.
Why?
Well, long story short: I was in the hospital for almost two weeks because I 'blacked out' due to sky-rocketing blood pressure. It happened while I was at dialysis. I was rushed to the hospital and put into the ICU at Sharp Memorial where I wasn't responding normally.....normally meaning I didn't recognize my wife or daughter for several days while the doctors finally got my BP down using intravenous drugs. After several days of this, I was discharged and went home.
This time at home was short-lived as I had to go back to the hospital and the ICU (this time Scripps Green Hospital) where everything was repeated. Luckily, my own nephrologist works at this hospital and was the one who ordered up an angiogram to see if my kidneys were working as they should have been working.
They weren't getting enough blood, so I had more metal installed with the addition of two stints into my renal arteries. (As I'm told, the specific kidney disease I've got leads to many 'jumps' in the patient's blood pressure for no known reason and one possibility is that if the original/native kidneys aren't getting enough blood, they'll start emittin "calling" for more blood in the body. More blood means higher pressure and for me, this meant higher pressure followed by migraine headaches that would kill an armored Humvee.)
So.....my kidney doc came to the rescue and I was released this evening from the hospital. Thank God!
Now I just have to recuperate from being bed-ridden for two weeks - believe it or not, I found myself almost literally falling down after only walking for few minutes the first time I came home last week. It really takes a lot out of the typical person when they're confined to bed for a period and then 'released' back into the wild.
This time around, I'm going to recover in my Lazy Boy chair and watch my Star Trek TOS DVD's.

Well holy crap, Mikey! No one even called to tell me this was going on. Grrr.
I'm glad you're home now. Really glad they've given you the lowdown on why you've had so much trouble with the blood pressure, the headaches, and everything else you've endured.
Rest, my friend. And if you need someone to sit with you during the day, gimme a call.

Good to know you're doin' okay....
I remember you always used to want to see pictures of stuff at Xfire and I didn't have a digital camera.
Well, Sweetie, I've got one now and I've been picture takin' fool.
I've posted a bunch at Xfire and it's not even a third of all I've taken already.
None of me (ew), but there is a new, more recent, sidebar pic...
*smile*
It's a real-deal Glamour Shot, too.
MY version of "glamour", anyway....
Which involves, in this shot, a flannel shirt and (bull) semen company baseball cap (and a leather jacket in others)...
*huge grin*
Anyway... just wanted to let'cha know that I've finally gotten a digital camera and am also posting pics left and right.
Hugs...

Anyway, it's the same blog name as before only in ends with dot com now.
