I've been watching the news over the last few days watching as Israel dishes out some payback onto Hezbollah guerillas in southern Lebanon.
Good for them.
As I was watching one of the reports on FoxNews last night, I remarked to my wife:
'You know.....if some Islamic psycho was able to detonate a nuclear weapon in Israel and killed a few million Jews.....there would be Arab nations and American peaceniks bitchin and moaning about all of the smoke coming from the nuclear firestorm and the United Nations would be trying to issue a condemnation on Israel for all the pollution caused by the bomb.'
My wife agreed.
I'm serious as a heart attack: no matter what Israel does, they are to blame for all the crap happening......as far as the Arab world and most American newspapers are concerned.
Tear it up Israel!
Obviously, the tactics Israel used in the past have not worked. During their last occupation, it

Yup. More war. Because it has worked thus far.
|| Posted by Nunya, July 15, 2006 01:13 PM ||well - after reading your blog, i can tell that you are an absolute idiot. Have you any idea why the Hezbollahs are there?
Well, 24 years ago, Israel Began an invasion of Lebanon - why? Greed (Backed by the USA). The bombed the hell out of the Lebonese civilians, using arms provided by George Bush. The Lebonese were helpless, until Ayetolla Khamania decided to do somthing about it. A group of civilians stood up to the israelis that were doing the bombing, and formed themselves a small army called Hezbollahs - backed by Iran.
Are Hezbollahs terrorists?
Well it seems to me that the definition of a terrorist is someone who stands up against the west & israel.
Its a war out there, and israel started it out of greed. These bombings mirror those of 24 years ago - israel have just regained enough military strength to do it again. And you are backing them up?
ISRAEL ARE TO BLAME COS THEY STARTED IT!
Good for the Hezbollahs! They have the balls to stand up to them.
Of corse - there is no chance you would ever know this - you watch FoxNews!
|| Posted by john, July 16, 2006 09:40 AM ||Umm....John?
Is English your native language or are you just a gramatical idiot?
And your diatribe (look it up moron) about Israel just confirms that they're doing the right thing whereas you're just another dork that cannot hide his anti-Semetism.
And you might take notice that while English isn't your native language that you're also not speaking German.....think about it.
BTW - why do you use a UK e-mail address when you're coming from Ontario? Eh?
Twerp.

Greed (Backed by the USA). The bombed the hell out of the Lebonese civilians, using arms provided by George Bush"
Ummm...according to MY math, 24 years ago was 1982. Neither George Bush was the President then. Ronald Regan was. Mr. Bush, the elder, was the VP. He did not assume the Presidential role until 1988...18 years ago.
|| Posted by Gracie, July 17, 2006 10:34 AM ||yeah yeah yeah - you and every other misguided American fool who seems to be in love with Isreal, completely oblivious to what hell they are doing in the rest of the world . "if he's from the west (or Isreal)then fine, anywhere from the middle east then he's a terrorist!" - completely backed up by your subheading "durka durka muhammed jihad". Racism at its best (or worse).
Isreal started this war by invading Lebonan - and i know that George Bush wasnt in power then, but he has been dealing arms for a very long time - in fact, plenty of the arms that Israel are using at the moment were courtesy of him.
I havent got anything against the Israeli people, nor any Jewish person, but i have a number of jewish friends that totally agree with me - and Palistinian. It is the Israeli government that is doing the damage - but you dont seem to realise it.
Are you forgetting about how WW2 began?
Hitler said that he wanted an area of Czechozlovakia, and he started to send in heavy artillery, and bombed that area persistantly until Britain France & Italy said "go on then" - appeasing him. But Hitler (against his word) continued to invade until FINALLY there was some intervention with Britain and France (and later the USA).
Well in 1982, the case was similar: Israel wanted to take a chunk of Lebonan, and the USA and most other countries didnt do anything about it. They were invading a helpless nation, and it wasnt until the Iranian government, Ayetollah Khamana, the Iranian people and The people of Lebonan formed there own army, fighting so that they could keep this land.
That fight is still going on, but you only see it when your news channel decides to broadcast it, and they do so in there own way. I watched fox news today, and it was unbelievably biassed against the Hezbollah.
What is it that the Hezbollah have done?
Israel started to drop the bombs, the Hezbollah defended.

What are you, twelve? Because you certainly aren't old enough to remember the early 80s.
Or even last week.
Hezbollah crossed into Israel and killed and kidnapped Israeli soldiers.
What part of 'Act of War' don't you understand?
Personally, I hope we have an extra MEU to spare for the area; there's some payback for 242 dead Marines that has come due.
|| Posted by Rob@L&R, July 17, 2006 11:50 AM ||WAIT!

Wow, holy shit! It's like there was a strategic reason to invade Iraq or something!

You got that right Rob.
|| Posted by Mad Mikey, July 17, 2006 05:59 PM ||John,
While Mikey and I have had a rocky past and hardly agree on anything til this day, I can say one thing for him - he is far from an idiot (unlike some of his buddies on other blogs).
I can also say while I do not think the answer to violence is more violence, I can say that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization who started this war. Understand that for months now, after Lebanon finally had some stability and the Israelies pulled out of parts of Gaza and eest bank, as well as the Palestinains voting in Hamas - none of this was good enough for that psycho in Iran who wants to drive Israel into the sea. So Iran (and I suspect Syria) have been sponsering Hezbollah and Hamas. I doubt highly you will see any "countries" decalring all out war but more so countries sponsering these terrorist groups. The thing that bothers me is Lebanon claims they are powerless to fight Hezbollah but haven't shown shit as far as mobilzing any of their own troops to try and reign in these attacks Hezbollah have been picking with Israel for the last sveeral months. Even one of thr cabinet members of Syria last night said on CNN that she feels Hezbollah was justified in capturing the soldiers. Why?
Now for my take on the solution. Hate to say it, but the Israelies should just pull the fuck out of the region. I say you let the Arabs have their roach motel desert. Put a big fucking border control on the outkirts of every arab nation and like South Central LA, let the scumballs fight amongst themselves until they are all dead. They try to come otuside of their own borders, shoot them. They want to luanch attacks from within their borders, you respond 10 fold on them. You don't let any trade in our out of the region. It is a simple soltution to the preceived problem.
But we all know what the real reason we have ANY interest over there is, now don't we?

This is a proxy war. Nothing more. Hez and Hamas are a proxy for Iran. Israel, a proxy fot the USA.
Gotta keep those oil prices sky high. After all Prince Syead is trying to sell his house in Colorado, Dubai is trying to expand their indoor ski resort, Hailburton is losing the military contract in Iraq, and poor destitute Bush-Walker clan only has another 2 years in the white house. Oh whatever will they do?
|| Posted by nunya, July 21, 2006 04:50 PM ||Obviously, the tactics Israel used in the past have not worked. During their last occupation, it is said that human rights were nonexistent on either side.
This time around, they are making a different tactical mistake. They are bombing the infrastructure of a city and population centers. As a result, hundreds of civilians are being killed. What results from civilian deaths is creating a more powerful enemy.
