Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the symbols and traditions of Christmas should be protected.
Whereas Christmas is a national holiday celebrated on December 25; and
Whereas the Framers intended that the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States would prohibit the establishment of religion, not prohibit any mention of religion or reference to God in civic dialog: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That the House of Representatives --
The roll call vote was as follows:
228 out of 230 Republicans voted along with 172 out of 202 Democrats and one Independent - YEA
22 Democrats voted NAY
They were:
Two Republicans with three Democrats NOT VOTING.
They were:
Weasels.

Just because a few fringe liberals don't like christmas in the mainstream does not mean the rest of the left thinks that way. It is one of the extreme views of the very extreme left that the conservatives are capitalizing on and diverting attention away from their gift horse whose administration happens to be falling apart with scandal, lies, and now even breaking the law that Bush himself has even been quoted in a speech saying that warrants are needed for wiretaps.
It is the same old story with the conservtives - spin spin spin and divert attention. Nothing ever changes with them, that is why they are conservative.
